Ni hao! 你好！ I am a native New Yorker. I teach Mandarin Chinese at Herricks Middle School in Long Island.  Last February our school was honored as one of 20 “Confucius Classrooms” in the U.S. for our dedication to teaching Chinese and our vision for the future.  This November my chairperson and I were invited to attend a 5 day summit in Shanghai for school leaders and Chinese language teachers..... all expenses paid! It was an invitation too amazing to resist. And so I began this blog......
